Happy Halloween, everyone! I like drawing a halloween-themed art piece every year, but I forgot last year, so I'm making it up with this huge, hand-killing piece.

This is Brian Ruiz, old rp character of mine, who appears in 'Slouching Towards Bethlehem'. He was an up-and-coming rock star on his first big tour in California when the zombie virus broke out. All of his band wound up getting infected, and he had to kill them all, which left some pretty nasty emotional scarring, since they were like brothers to him. He decided to try and get back home to his family in New York, and was able to get out of Cali in a car. He made almost out of Nevada when gas production stopped, and so he continued on foot, often times going weeks on his own, then finding a colony or compound and staying a few days, before moving on again. How he made it to Colorado - where his original rp, and STB, take place - alive is anyone's guess. He uses his Stratocaster, nicknamed 'Lucy', and a bowie knife to fight off zombies.

This was... a bit thing for me to tackle, art-wise. I was trying really hard to draw an expression that really gets that feeling of fear in it, which I think I accomplished. His body language is pretty good, too. Coloring turned out good, though the effect I wanted for the red sky didn't quite work out. The zombies in the background could have been better, but I wanted the focus to be on Brian, so I didn't spend as much time on them as I should have. Also, if anyone is wondering about Brian's hair color - before the virus outbreak, his hair was in about 5 inch long spikes, the crown part of it bleached blonde. The sides and back of his head were left his natural brown, which you see a bit here, and the dark roots are showing. The reason for the blood on his collar being lighter then anywhere else is because its fresh blood from his cut, while the rest is dried. He also has a black eye.

I seems that you put some thought into your story and our character "Brian". I love this pic though. I also see what you mean about the background. It's that blue and green you got hovering above the reds. Unless that's what you were envisioning as you were drawing. I like how you added the bandage on Brian's hand too. You feel the man's struggles and hardships just looking at him. Also, it really sucked that he had to kill his band-mates. Truly Tragic
