And letting them take over certainly works in your favor! you have some lovely expressionate strokes, very free and energetic which is perfect for the subject, really brings it to life =)
nice use of colour too, the pink is vibrant enougth to add to the life of the photo but not so much so that it distracts from the integrity of it, really nice, good job
