Shades Of Twilight Ch 1 Pt 2

"I-I-I'm sorry, I'm terribly sorry... my powers are newly awakened" Aaron said, panicking, worried he might get fined or arrested.
Awakening was the term given to these abilities' first manifestation in a human being. Most awakenings are either very aggressive and sudden or they occur during the REM cycle, the dream phase, of sleep in a somewhat calmer manner.

Aaron was wondering if he could fix the wall in any way when a tall person, about 2 meters tall, walked up to him and said: "here... allow me" the person placed his palm up against the wall as silver slithering energy began to flow from his hand and pour into the wall. The metal slowly moved, clanking, as it was being repaired by the silver energy, when the wall was completley repaired the person spoke: "I'm Ian, I also learn at Public School 16" Ian extended his arm for a handshake as he was smiling. "My name is Aaron... how did you know I learn at PS16?" Aaron said while shaking Ian's hand "The school symbol on your right sleeve gave it away" Ian said as he was pointing towards the logo on Aaron's right sleeve.

The symbol wasn't so special, it was a large green 16 that was written on a white book with 2 old looking brass bells on the upper right and lower left of the book. After they stopped shaking hands they both went for one of the benches that happened to be empty.

Aaron swiftly brought the palm of his hand against his head as he realized: "I forgot to thank you for helping me with the wall", Ian chuckled "yeah, I could notice you were pretty shaken up so I figured you'd remember to do that after you've calm down" Aaron was slightly embarrassed for being both rude and predictable.

After 5 minutes of awkward silence Aaron decided to start a conversation "so... you can control metals?" Ian nodded "yes, I can manipulate and form metal... although unlike you I've had my power since I was four years old and had plenty of practice". Aaron failed to notice earlier that Ian is not only very tall but also tanned and without a doubt a fitness fanatic, he had short black hair and, contradictionaly, blue eyes.

They kept talking afterwards, for the next hour or so, about the city and where there are good places to go to after school, about their annoying siblings and about powers in general. Eventually the Gravi-Kart arrived and as people began to board it the voice of a woman could be heard throughout the station: "Police Quad, Shopping District, PS 11-16 and Central Gravi-Kart Station".

The orange colored Gravi-Kart was the size of an old two floored Train Cart and was also very similar it its build except for the "wheels" of the GK which were 8 panels, on the underside of the vehicle, shining a bright blue and pulsating every few seconds. On each side of the GK was a different commercial screen, constantly playing all sorts of different commercials, which have now been deemed illegal to include voice in them since they were becoming constant public nuisance, on the front of the GK was the logo of the Gravi-Kart company who were in charge of this route.

Inside the GK the seats were set up as four seats, pair facing pair, with a table in between them. Aaron and Ian sat down facing each other, both of them sat their bags next to them "I don't remember seeing you in school before... how long have you been a student at PS16?" Ian asked, realizing he had never seen Aaron before "It's actually... my first day at PS16... I moved to NTC two weeks ago during summer vacation" Aaron said as the GK left the station heading for PS16.
