Hah. I was originally drawing this with a realistic style, and I totally failed. I think I'm either devolving or evolving into a cartoon style exclusively. I dunno. And of course it's not a very original style. Anyone who reads Kate Beaton would be realize they've seen something similar before. /o\ I'm so ashamed.

The pen I used for that...I love it so much. I just bought it. It is pretty. I want to live in a world filled with those pens. And the best thing? It doesn't muddy up when in contact with the ink wash, unlike my other, very cheap felt-tip pen.

Those are actually characters.

For, like, a middle school level story I may or may not be writing.

Have a great Halloween, everyone!

PS: What's up with those legs, kid?

Yo, I have no idea who this Kate Beaton is-- but because of that, your style feels quite original.
:) Happy Halloween to you too

they look like riley and tod (or the guy she likes I would have to see it in color) from the show the replacements.

I saw this on the frontpage and I was like OH NO KATE BEATON JOINED SHEEZYART. Then I got suckerpunched with an awesome, adorable picture that Kate Beaton didn't draw. What a jerk. You think you're so cool with your blend of oldschool reminiscin' type shading and newschool geometric angles, blowing my mind and stuff. Gosh.

K, this deserves its front page! Finally a piece worth seeing.
