Things I Dream part 5

Dull pain. I looked around. To my surprise, I saw a stage. The room was empty. The rest of the room was dark. I looked up to the stage mad saw a quitar amd a not behind that a drumset. I walked up to the stage and pulled myslef onto it.
"Gah!" I cry out in pain. There is a stabbing pain in my left shoulder. I dropped onto the stage, clutching my shoulder. When the pain subsided I lifted myself off the floor of the stage. Now that I could see the floor of the stage, I could see there was also a microphone laying beside the guitar. I walked over to it and leaned over to pick it up. I looked around to make sure there was no one else in the room. Seeing one noe, I picked up the microphone and tappped it. Nothing.
"Hmm, must not be on." I mumbled. Looking the mic over, I saw an on/off switch. It was on. I looked at it in confusion. I looked around for an ampliphier. I looked all around.
Turning to the quitar, I saw a small amp behind the guitar. I walked over to it and looked at the volume for the microphone and quitar. Both were turned down. I turned both up a little. Testing the microphone again, I was glad the to hear the quiet echo from the amp. I gently set the microphone down and picked up the quitar. Moving into one of the sighter spots on the stae; I noticed the guitar was dark blue with red paint, the color of blood, dripping down the guitar. I slid my hand across the blood-like paint. It was dry.
It was so well painted it looked real and wet. I strumed a few notes.
"Who would leave a perfectly tuned guitar just sitting out like this?" I asked myself. I turned to the amp and turned it up a little.
I played the intro to "Smoke on the Water" by Dark Purple.
"Haha, the number one rock song for beginners." I said quietly. I laughed quietly. After a moment I sighed. Why do I feel so down. I walked to the end of the stage and walked into a darker area of the room. There was tables and chairs. I sat down with the guitar on my lap. I started to play tje guitar for "Crow Chasiing A Butterfly" by Shinedown. When the lyrics shoud have come in I started to hum. There was a crashing noise by the drums. I stopped and stood up looking around. Nothing had changed.
"Who's there?" I ask loudly in surprise. I slip the guitar strap over my head so it is resting on my shoulders. With my hands now free, I walked back over to the stage. Making my way up to side stairs of the stage; I asked again. There was silence. I turned around, sensing someone behing me. There was someone standing in the shadows, just behind the opening of the stage. I backed away as the firgure moved closer. Even in the light, I couldn't tell who he was. His hair was long and blue-black. It coverd his eyes.
"I-I'm sorry. Is this your guitar?" I ask still backing away from him. He stops and laughs.
"Of course not! Screw guitar. I'm a drummer." He said. He took another step toward me and I took another step back.
"Why do you keep backing away from me?" I thought you liked me?" he said. I was confused. I don't know this guy. I took another step back not realising how close I was to the edge of the stage. I threw my arm out for balance, but still began to fall. The guy rushed forward and grabbed my arm; pulling me back on the stage and into him. Looking down at me he titled my head back and kissed me. Before I could scream, I felt the melt on my lips. I pulled my head back so I could look at him. He grinned and stuck his tongue out. There was a black skull tongue ring piercing his tongue. I gasped.
"Zach?" I asked quietly. Zach stepped back from the edge and pulled me with him.
"You forgot me so much you didn't recongize me?" he asked pulling me against him.
"O-of course not. I-I could never forget you." I said defensively. "I missed you." We stood there holding each other for a moment.
"I'm glad to see you... but I was hoping that we wouldn't meet for a while. I know you very well and I know why you did what you did." he explained. He rocked me back and forth in a soothing, gentle motion.
"Zach, I don't understand. What are you talking about?" I asked in a confused way. He sighed and led me off the stage. He took the guitar from me and set it on a table. He pulled a couple of chairs out from the table and offered me a seat. I sat down and he sat down in the chair beside me. He put one arm around my shoulder and put his other hand on my leg.
"Becca, I need you to think. Why have you been missing me? Where have I done?" He asked seriously. I looked at him for a moment. I lifted his shirt and looked at his ribs. There were gashes in his side bruised and bloody. I gasped and lightly touched the least bruised area.
"That really happened? It wasn't just a bad dream?" I asked ready to cry. He nodded and gently rubbed my back. I let his shirt fall back to his side. I looked at him and saw the sorrow in his eyes.
"Zach, am I dead?" I asked in a quiet voice, hardly more than a whisper. He pulled me into a tight hug.
"Yes, but you’re not meant to be. You still have time left. You have to go back." We sat like that for a few minutes in silence. I pulled back and looked at him.
"Zach... I don't want to go back. I want to stay with you." I admitted quietly.
"Yes, you do. You want to go back to writing more of that beautiful music you compose and play. You want to go back to the moon. Your loyal silver grey fared borzoi." He told me. In a whisper he added, "And you want to go back to your friend, Sebastian. And all the surprises he has for you." I pulled away from Zach.
He seemed surprised by my action but didn't protest.
"Zach, I want to be here with you!" You’re the only one who understands me!" I said in a pleading voice. Why I was being so defensive, I don't know. Zach looked at the floor and sighed. As he opened his mouth to say something, I turned and walked back toward the stage. I heard him get up as I reached the stage. I pulled myself up on my arms and felt Zach's arms around my waist. He pulled me against him and away from the stage.
"Put me down Zach." I said with a sigh. He just laughed and backed up to where his seat was. He sat down with me on his lap and held me there.
"Zach..."
"You have to go back!"
"But-"
"No buts! I love you, that’s why you have to go back! You need to keep living. Think of Seb!" he said with a yell. I was shocked.
"I'm not really dead then. You don't return from death." I muttered. His grip on me tightened into a strong hug. I was so confused.
"You should sleep." he said. I started to feel drowsy as he said this.
"Why?" I asked in a dazed voice.
"To go back. Now sleep. Just know, anytime you feel you need to talk, just think of me and when you sleep I'll be there to talk to." he said. He started humming to me. A song he wrote years ago. A soothing song. I felt my eyes close against my will. And again I slept.
