It was the night before Halloween night, and Sonic with his guy friends got themselves an invite to go through a haunted house outside of Station Square by the girls, who said they’ll meet them there. Little did the boys know, there is more to this seemingly-innocent invite than what meets the eye as they come up to the old Dark Night Mansion.

Beware of the full moon
Stick to the path
Out come the creatures
A spine chilling laugh

“This place is creepy…” Tails says nervously as they go up to the front door, when he jumped to a loud creak. “What was that?!?”

“Take it easy Tails,” Shade the Dracohog, Shadow’s brother, said. “That was the step that Sonic stepped on.”

“Sorry little buddy,” the Blue Blur replied with a sweat drop and then he said, “To be honest, that scared me too.”

They soon went in.

There's a chill in the air
(Chill in the air)
You hear a creak on the stair
(Creak on the stair)

“Hey Amy? Rouge?” Knuckles shouted into the empty house. “Starlight? Angel? Come on this isn’t funny!”

“They should be here” Shadow muttered, just as the door slammed shut causing them all jump and run off to different rooms.

You'd better lock all your doors
(Lock all your doors)
Is there anybody out?

“Girls?” Sonic said as he was trying to keep his cool, looking around the library he ran into before seeing some sort of large spider moving towards him in a lightning flash and then he went sprinting into the hallway in total fright.

They're out to get you
To capture you
And make you
Spellbound

Tails was walking backwards totally freaked out when he bumped into something and looked up to see a suit of armor with glowing red eyes and he soon ran into the kitchen screaming.

Howling and prowling
You're shivering
Quivering
Spellbound

“AAAAGH! O.K YOU GOT ME! I’M REALLY SCARED!” Knuckles hollered as he ran up the stairs from a pair of ghosts for he was scared of them and nearly ran into Shade.

You cannot run
And you cannot hide
Yeah you gotta face it baby
Things go bump in the night

“Hey what th-AAAACK!” Shade screamed as he turned around with the guardian close behind him as they ran into a room and the ghosts floated past.

Luckily Shadow was in the same room which was a study. “I think the girls planned this! Oooh am I gonna get them for this prank!”

He soon noticed the two of them looking more freaked than ever and pointing behind him and after he asked the famous, “There’s something really freaky behind me, isn’t there?” question, he turned around to see a shapeless black-aura phantom with blood-red eyes. He chuckled and soon all three of them ran back downstairs into the hall, screaming their heads off.

It's very Scooby-Doo

Sonic soon ran into them. “T-this is freaky! I saw the biggest spider of my life! It’s even bigger than me when I was a Werehog!”

“W-well these two saw ghosts up the stairs and then we saw a-a PHANTOM in the BLOODY STUDY!” Shadow shouted for the other two was still freaked out. “By the way where’s Tails?”

You hear a shriek in the house
(Shriek in the house)
You know it's freaking me out

They soon heard Tails scream from the kitchen and they go running to see what was wrong.

They're out to get you
To capture you
And make you
Spellbound

They soon saw him cornered by the same suit of armor he saw earlier and when he saw them, he dashed out towards them and they all ran into the cellar.

Howling and prowling
They're shivering
Quivering
Spellbound

“This is too much!” Shade said and a distorted voice replied, “Are you sure? The fun’s just begun.”

They soon all ran out screaming into the living room after seeing glowing green eyes with no face.

You cannot run

“L-let’s stay close t-together,” Knuckles said and another distorted voice with glowing yellow eyes said, “Then that makes it more fun!” causing them to run back upstairs to the master bedroom at the end of the hall.

Things go bump, bump, bump in the night

As soon as it was quiet, Sonic suggested they go down the hall together and keep an eye out for more ghosts, which they agreed with Shadow warning them of the phantom in the study.

Who’s spooking who?

They started to creep down the hallway, not knowing that the suit of armor was behind them.

Soon they heard it clank behind them and froze as they looked back at the armor following them and getting closer.

They soon all screamed and Tails asked while they stood rooted on the spot, “What do we do?!?”

Sonic said nothing because he was really spooked and even though his mind was screaming for him to run, his legs wouldn’t move, until they saw that same blood-eyed phantom come out of the study.

Shade soon answered as the phantom appeared, “LET’S ALL HAUL TAIL OUTTA HERE!”

They all agreed with that plan and soon ran out the front door, slamming it behind them and running to the gate.

They soon heard laughing from the bushes and saw Amy, Angel, Rouge, Cream and Starlight coming out with controllers and microphones.

“I knew it and yet I was still spooked!” Knuckles said as he and the others were really pissed off at the girls for their prank.

“We even put in hidden cameras!” Rouge said after she calmed down. “This was actually the COMMANDER’S idea for the scare he got last year!”

“Though it was Mr. Sonic’s idea then!” Cream chirped in.

“Then we thought, ‘Hey! Why not we do it to all the boys?’” Amy added in.

“Com on! It was pretty funny once you think about it!” Starlight said and Angel added on, “Plus it’s Halloween tomorrow! Just call it a good start!”

The boys soon looked at each other and then they burst out laughing with the girls because the did have to admit, it was REALLY funny!

“Gosh you definitely had us going there!” Sonic said as he laughed. “From the spider to the armor and voices, to even that creepy phantom!”

The girls soon stopped laughing and Amy asked in confusion, “What phantom? We didn’t make a phantom.”

“You mean,” Knuckled started asking, “you didn’t make that dark creepy phantom with the red eyes in…the…stu…dy….”

He trailed off as the question clicked in to everyone‘s minds: If the girls didn’t make the phantom, who did?

They looked at each other then Starlight shouted, “LAST ONE TO THE COMMANDER’S PARTY IS AS FREAKED OUT AS THE REST OF US!” and they all ran off screaming, thinking the phantom was real.

At least until some laughter came from another set of bushes after they left and a particular three-tailed kitsune and her Spellcaster friends came out holding their stomachs.

“TUNDERSHOCKER!” Thundertail cried out, “Did you SEE their faces?!?”

“I know!” Raincloud shouted. “I wish I had a camera!”

“Same here,” Icia and Mint Wind added on, still laughing.

“That was the best prank yet!” Firestorm declared. “I can’t believe we pulled it off!”

“Well it was harmless,” Light Trainer replied then she turned to the Eclipse Twins on the roof and shouted, “Great job you two!”

“It was-” Sunwhisker started as Moontail continued, “-such a wonderful prank-” “-that even the-” “-council will enjoy hearing this!” “Plus it was-” “really helpful that-” “-Darkness element powers are-” “-strongest on the week of Halloween!”

“Yeah! A prank within a prank!” Minty said and then she remembered something, “Oh, don’t forget we need to go back to Kitsuno Village and prepare that prank for Volcana and the village’s annual Halloween festival!”

They all agreed to it and soon went off laughing in the opposite direction Sonic and his friends ran off, knowing this would be a Halloween they’ll never forget.
