This is just sort of an anime idea I had in my freshman year of high school.
Its about a young boy who comes from a small, happy village. In an exiting twist of events, he discovers that the land surrounding his village is without color and is a shadow realm of dark creatures. He goes on an epic journey and finds he has magnificent powers. He ends up falling in love with a girl who holds the spirit of the goddess of the universe, Arika.
