Happy early Halloween! 8D
I was going to try to finish that “sneak preview” pic for Halloween, but I figured I wouldn’t get it done in time… I like having pics done BEFORE something like a holiday happens.
I wanted the pic to be somewhat the same as my last year picture (here:
link ) but also different. So this year it has a younger girl as his prey. ;D (maybe a pre-teen? )
Like the other one, the hoomin doesn’t know he’s behind them until the last second.
I also tried to make it look a little more creepier than normal…
And I think I got it down because of his wings. I somehow got it to look like a face… like a clowns or something.
It makes me laugh. (two eyes and the mouth. I SURE CAN SEE IT) I didn’t even know I did that until I was half way with the coloring.
So that’s my fave part on this pic.
I DUNNO WHAT THE GIRL IS HOLDING. NOR DO I KNOW WHY SHE’S OUT SO LATE. COMING BACL FROM A FRIEND’S, MAYBE?
Oh, yeah, and about those stripes on Pierce… That’s his new True Demonic State(TDS) look. I didn’t like the idea of these weird red, glowing markings on him. I didn’t feel like it worked out that well. He still has black eyes is this (though they be white here), and those stripes will go away when he’s “back to normal”.
And if you can’t tell, he’s about to engulf, or, “catch” her with his wings.

Great job.
I really do like these new markings, Shorty. They blend in with his fur much better, and make it creeper when you have him shadowed. If they glowed, it wouldn't be as dramatic.

I have to say, the wings are my favorite part of this as well, not just the face they form (I SEE IT TOO) but there shape and detail. They look long and bony, in a good way.
I really like how dark it is too, it really adds to the creepiness of it.
Peirce looks pretty good, I'd love to see an updated version of his TDS some day. :3
My main irks would be with the girl. She doesn't seem to have much motion going on, or a really eye catching expression. That's not as big a deal (it's easy to do with on-a-whim sketches) but she looks kinda muscular here especially in her arms, also, the crotch in her pants looks a little low set. it would be fine, but they look kinda tight fit, and her being a girl it looks like she has a really long stomach.
Last thing is the shiny streaks on her, I think those should be blended in a bit considering she's not wet. I wouldn't have said anything, but it seems common that you make a lot of your people really shiny.
Her face is really cute though, and for some reason I'm really drawn to her hair.
Other than that, I think it looks great, it's got the creepy vibe throughout the entire image and I'm still in love with the wings.
Also, I'm super duper pooper sorry I haven't commented in...7 months? I just, like, abandoned art for a while. :<
