My sunset

My sunset

Disappointing, this all is;
I can not find my sunset.
I wanted so badly to see it…
But find it I did not.
Now, the world is turning dark-
Where is my transition?
I thought that, maybe, seeing it
Could make nighttime easier.
But no…

Simple, sweet, those golden moments
When starbursts of red streak the sky.
They make the day more pleasant, and
They make the night seem grand.
So many others I have seen
Smiling in the nighttime at
The thought of their evening sky.
So many asked me, “What did yours look like?”
I reply, “I did not have one.”

I can not find my sunset.
Looking back on lost years,
I can not find a time
When I looked at my evening sky
And saw my sunset sinking,
Red and gold and glowing,
Smiling at me as it sails
Into the horizon.

Perhaps, somewhere along my life,
I should have stopped and watched
The beauty of the sunset resting
On the edge of my world.
I should have stepped outside
And taken pictures with my mind
Of the world tinted pink and red
As the sun set on me.

I could have let the world go by
Instead of trying to keep up.
I could have stopped to watch the sunset,
Instead of wishing for more light.
Maybe next time, I kept saying.
Next time always came, but I
Did not take that chance, and now
I’ll never see my sunset.

Don't mind me; I suck at writing.

Well, this one's not my favorite poem, at least.
But I like it enough to share.

Share your thoughts, please?

End.

Kintaro Says:

My age is now unbidding,
I can barely lift my head;
yet still the suns rays
'light nowhere near my bed.
even though I try to move
each sunset coming near
my bodys mutiny
causes quick retreat.

My sunset lies in mind now,
nowhere, all can see
for in my mind I watch it set
in the final days of me.
