This is what I've been working on lately, still a work in progress, will scrap later. Comments, suggestions?

if you're suggesting a road that goes into the far distance, the two edges of that road come together in one point, and not in this way...
allso, the horizontal lines of the rooves, windows etc etc would allso all converge into this point

also, when using computer-genrated gradients, adding a photo (the sand) makes it really stand out and feel out of place... allso, sand dunes of this size (relative to the buildings) wouldnt say nicely within the lines you've drawn...

one last thing, to create an extra impresion of distance, fade the colours more as the buildings are further away, so you have the buildings close to you in their normal colours, but the ones furthest away are gray/blackish... allso the further away, the less detail you can see... something about that door in the second apartement from the left at the back bugs me...

but not a bad attempt :)
