I am from being a knight,
with my glistening plastic sword and shield.
From burning bugs on the fiery sidewalk
and playing with my Thundercats action figures.
I am from playing soccer and Tug 'o War with my siblings,
in the heat of the day.
From dancing to Boyzone
and listening to the soothing words of Elton John.
From copying the rather difficult "Moonwalk" from Michael Jackson.
I am from shrinking Gobstoppers and broken-off pieces of Kit-Kats,
from enjoying the action of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".
From the chilling words of An Arabian Night
and from constanly repeating "Wait, what?"
I am from a close encounter with college-bound teaching.
This is a poem that I wrote about a week ago. Its about my step-dad and what he did in his childhood. I have a pretty good chance of getting this published in a book.
