Actually the one hand up pointed and one hand technically facing down makes me think of Baphomet. Baphomet (though usually used as a satanic symbol) was also thought to represent something similar to this, the balance or harmony of things. With up, there's down, with male there's female (its suppose to be hermaphrodictic), with light there's dark sorta deal.
