The King's a Fool

Another dreary day at school
Here comes that boastful air
You're speaking lies with every word
Acting as if you care

It isn't hard to fool a few
You did not fool me much
They're looking up with dazzling eyes
Their hearts you plan to touch

That chestnut hair and dark green eyes
A walking king you are
"Hello" you say as you come up
A vision from afar

My stomach churns with slight disgust
I try to fake a smile
You don't deserve a passing glance
But we converse a while

The school bell rings, I touch the lock
Your face is getting near
I'm much too nice to let you stay
But you won't leave me here

The locker door slams in your face
I play a look of worry
You don't seem pleased as I respond
Mumbling a little "sorry"
