honey and cinnamon
Maci said she wouldn't tell if Noah wouldn't,
that what Amelia didn't know wouldn't hurt her,
and that hand poised just above Noah's collarbone
was all it took for him to give in,
to say yes to deceit and lies and possible infidelity
because what Amelia didn't know wouldn't hurt her.
Or so Maci whispered in his ear.
Her lips tested the outline of his jaw,
tested the limits of his integrity,
but they were soft and beguling
and made his knees feel like
jelly,
She carried the odd taste of honey and cinnamon,
and so he thought that what Amelia didn't know
certainly wouldn't kill her.
