blood maps
The world cease to make sense
the moment she felt her
nose splinter beneath
the other girl's fist,
even when her body had
hit the icy ground,
she wasn't fully aware of how
uselessly her nose flopped.
Cold hands like ice cubes
flew to her face,
the fingers were tiny birds
pecking at her skin.
There were sounds somewhere,
distant and loud and angry,
enraged yelling of 'you started it',
She didn't care, she wanted
the pain at the center of her
face to melt away like all the
snow would once spring came.
The pain was white hot
and it felt like fire.
And the blood that seeped between
her fingers and traveled down her chin
made maps in the snow,
(Australia formed beneath her hand).
She could feel hands traveling
from her back to her shoulders,
she fought the urge to
yell 'leave me alone' because
there was a certain lightness
to her head she felt shouldn't
be there,
So for a moment,
one moment,
she glanced up and her
vision was filled with a
blond halo of hair and a voice
that tells her to stay calm,
but sounds more worried than she is.
