The Multiform Rifle (MFR) is Crash's primary weapon throughout MSLN Test Dummies. This all purpose magical rifle has the ability to switch modes and forms depending on what combat schematics have been uploaded to the modular recognition system. For the story, it contains the MFR Standard Mode, with an assortment of shots, and the Lance Rifle.

The weapon is built larger and more solidly than most other magical rifles to allow inclusion with the armor's ability to augment mage abilities and provide burst energies during a shot. Part of this size inclusion is the Recoil Hammer. A large component of the firing mechanism that serves no real purpose except to absorb recoil effects. It's attatched to a high power spring to assist in recoil damping effects from the larger magical bolts.

The sound that just played is the sound of the MFR firing. Asside from the loud, meaty crack from the heavy barrel's firing, one can distinctly hear the double 'clank' of the recoil hammer, especially it's higher pitched reset impact.

Bolt types specific to the MFR are the Super Sonic Soft Impact 'Shriek' (S3I) and the Super-Sonic Armor Piercing 'Strap' (S2AP)

These are some of the fastest time-on-target magic rounds developed, second only to Lance Bolts in velocity. They sacrifice the ability to be guided or even manipulated beyond the barrel for said speed.

The S3I is a 'safe' round, designed to mushroom at impact with a solid object to spread the force out to something more like getting punched.

The S2AP is a Lethal round, designed specificly for material penetration. For a magic round, it bears close resemblance to real material bullets without any of the logistics involved. Use of the Strap round is suggested against on human targets by the TSAB.

After the battle of Cranagan, one of the enemy who was captured that fought with the Test Pilot commented on the distinct and frightening sound of the MFR. Calling it 'A disturbing metallic thunderclap that made you instinctively duck, even if he it wasn't aimed at you.'
