Chapter 10

A Dream


As night drew closer Soulryuu put the camp fire out and slowly fell sleep.

Suddenly Soulryuu awoken by a strange sound, he got up and noticed fog had rolled in a very heavy fog. He slowly started to walk away from the camp. Carla's eyes flickered open and she watched as Soulryuu walked away into the fog, she got up and nudged Mark.
“Mark, wake up” Carla whispered, Mark woke up and yawned.

“Unless you're near death or want to give me a pie m going back to sleep” Mark said still half asleep,

“Wake up Soulryuu's went off into the forest by himself” Carla said,

“Oh no not the forest god forbid not the forest!” Mark said, Carla rolled her eyes

“You know what if you're going to be like this I'm just going by myself” she said,

“GREAT! Don't let me slow you down” Mark said going back to sleep. Carla frowned and then dug her claws into Marks shoulders and started pulling him into the forest.

“Ow...Ish” Mark mumbled.

Soulryuu stopped in front of a castle, the doors opened but yet no one was around to open them. He walked into the castle and out of the forest.

“What's he doing going in there?” Carla asked,

“Maybe he's looking for a bed...But the first ones always too hard and the second one is too soft and the third-” Carla cut Mark off,

“Don't, say it!” She said with an almost hiss at the end. Carla walked onto the door bridge and into the castle.

“Third ones juuuuuuuust right” Mark said as he walked into the castle.

Eventually Soulryuu walked into a large hall that had a stone chair in the middle, someone or something sat in the stone chair with blood red eyes glowing as the moonlight made the stone chair glitter.

“So, you have taken up my offer” it said, Soulryuu stopped in front of the chair.

“I have thought about it yes” he said,

“And?” It asked,

“And...well... I-I can't do it, I won't do it” Soulryuu said, The thing in the chair stood up and drew a sword and placed the tip of the blade next to Soulryuu's face.

“Oh, but I think you will” it said, Soulryuu lifted his hand for a moment it hung in the air with doubt, Then grabbed the blade. The thing holding the blade released it's grip and lowered it's hand back down by it's side.

“But...I...I...Yes” Soulryuu said lowering his head then lifting it again. Soulryuu turned and walked out of the hall.

“Oh my god” Carla gasped.

“What did you brake a nail?” Mark asked, Carla hissed at him.

“AH!, sorry, wow...” He apologized, Carla turned back round and looked out an arch that lead into a giant hall.

“Look! There's Soulryuu” Carla said,

“Shh...He's talking to that thing on the chair” Mark said,

'Oh when did you become interested in this?' Carla thought. After talking they noticed Soulryuu left the hall.

“We should get back to the camp before he does” Mark said, Carla nodded, they got to the nearest window and leaped out and flew back to the camp site.

The thing in the chair gave a sigh.

“Damn dragons snooping around in my castle”

Carla and Mark landed back in the camp site, Soulryuu was nowhere to be found.
Mark instantly went back to sleep. Carla lay down and pretended she was asleep.

Soulryuu got back at the camp and lay down on the ground, Carla watched him. He still had that sword in his hand but then took his sword out and placed it on the ground. He put the new sword in his sheathe and closed his eyes.

“You got up, where did you go?” Carla asked, Soulryuu was silent.

“I...Was out...” he said,

“Doing?” Carla went on.

“What guys do when they need to go” He said,

“And that normally takes ten minutes?” Carla asked,

“When you get attacked by small creatures it does” Soulryuu said,

'Oh he's good, but why is he covering for that?” Carla thought.

“Okay, good night” Carla said as she tried to get some sleep.

“Same to you” Soulryuu said, Soulryuu's words echoed in Carla's head.

'What was that meant to mean? What was he talking about that he can't? What's he going to do?' Carla asked herself.
