Missing you~Chapter 1

I watched the sun set over Tokyo from where I sat in the park opposite the river. A sigh escaped my lips as I remembered how I used to play here with an old friend, I hadn’t seen him since we moved a few years back to England.
My mother was an English Lawyer and my dad was a famous Japanese Formula one racer, they met-this is so cliché- at a shopping centre in London when they bumped into each other and it was love at first sight, my mum said. Shortly after I was born, my dad had to leave for Japan because of his big tournament that was coming up. My mother got bored of being alone with me and flew to Japan as soon as she could and surprised him after one of his races, we moved back when my grandmother was dying. I’ve only been back a few days and I’m wondering how he’s been, I was told by my dad once, when he called me that my old friend was different without me. Almost hollow, like a piece was missing from him. I cried for days after he’d told me that and begged my mother to take me back to Japan, she wouldn’t let me until I reach the age of eighteen a few weeks ago.

“Bang! Bang!” a small boy of eight shouted as he mimed shooting imaginary enemies.”Don’t worry, Shimizu! I’ll save you!” he shouted to a girl of around the same age, who was pretending to be pulled away, she stretched out her hand.
“Uruha! Save me!” she yelled as he ran towards her and slashed his katana at the make believe assailant, freeing Shimizu. She squealed and hugged him.
“Arigato, Uru!”She said, bowing to him. He smiled and took her hand before they made their way up the bank to their parents who were clapping and laughing.
“Well done, Uruha! That was much faster than the last time!” Shimizu’s mum commented as they started to walk back through the park.
“Yeah, it was Uruha!” Shimizu chirped, smiling at him as she skipped on ahead.
“Shimizu, wait up!” he shouted running to catch up with her. The blonde haired girl stopped and turned around to face her friend. “I’ll race you to the gate!” he challenged once he caught up with her.
“On your marks!” She said, crouching slightly.
“Get set!” Uruha continued, doing the same.
“GO!” they shouted as they charged off towards the gate a few hundred yards in front of them.

I snapped out of my trance when the sun was blocked from my view by someone. I looked up through my dark tinted sunglasses.
“This seat taken?” the person asked, I shook my head and they sat down. I looked at the person more closely and saw it was a boy of around my age maybe older, his rather feminine features were strikingly familiar but I couldn’t place them. I angled my body towards them to get a better look. His hair was a honey blonde-obviously dyed- and he had two sparkling orbs for eyes that she knew she’d seen before. But where?
“Excuse me,” I asked. He looked at me. “Do I know you?” The boy laughed and smiled at me.
“You should, though I’ve probably changed these last few years.” He said. I frowned and studied his face some more. Suddenly, younger Uruha face flashed before my eyes and I gasped, I suddenly felt dizzy and had to hold his shoulder to stop myself from falling back.
“U-Uruha?” I stuttered as I stared at him. His smile widened and he laughed as I blinked, still in shock.
“Been a while, huh Shim?” he laughed before I hugged him tightly.
