Chapter 1

A few months later Alex was in a dungeon, solo playing. Now, there was something different about his character, it had on an open bright blue mid-riff jacket with spikes on the shoulders, His bell bottom pants were replaced with jeans that had chaps over them. The tattoo that went from his lower lip and down his neck was gone and replaced two that went up his cheeks to his eyes then continued up to the crown of his head. A vertical eye was tattooed on his stomach.

The dungeon was a cave with lights hanging lazily from the ceiling. There were patches of grass at some spots on the floor and walls.

“Well, here’s the boss… that means the beast statue’s in the next area… Let’s go…” a blue field appeared around Alex and the boss, a large creature with its hands bound behind its back and a giant blade with weights at the end hung from its mouth.

Alex dashed at the boss, and jabbed with his right hand, a low punch with his left then two kicks. The creature brought its head back, ready to swing the large weapon. “Crap, crap, crap, crap!” He tried to run out of its range but was hit and sent flying into the barrier and fell to the ground.

“Damn that hurts…” He stood up and shook it off. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the monster getting closer, “Oh dammit, this is gonna hurt.” To his relief the monster raised the weapon over its head. Alex started running to the other side of the battle area. The monster brought the weapon down. A cloud of dark smoke rose up around the monster. “At least I got away from that. Now I just need to come up with a plan.” He ran at the monster punching and kicking it in the shins.

“Maybe my scythe would have better luck. Alrighty then…” He touched the gauntlets to his hips and they disappeared, he brought his hands to his left side and pulled a large scythe out. It had a long thin handle leading up to a slim arm holding a giant blade that had the teeth of a chainsaw vibrating around the blade.

Black dots appeared around the bottom of his character.

“What the hell are these things…? They show up every time I change weapons or I’m having trouble in a fight.” In an instant the boss monster was swallowed up by the black dots then they flew into Alex’s character. “What the hell is going on?”

Alex pulled off the M2D and looked at the computer screen right in front of him. Black dots bubbled out from the middle of the screen. It looked as if they were trying to jump out at him from the sides of the monitor. He slowly and hesitantly started to reach a hand out to the black dots. He placed a hand on the monitor and the bubbles matched the shape of his hand. He pulled it away and saw the dots slowly bubble out of the shape of his hand disappear.

“Well now… That was weird…” He put the M2D back on. He went over to the last room where a chest was on the edge of cliff. Just over the cliff floated a statue of Folset, the God of Law. He had a big grin showing sharp teeth. Engraved in the statue were fists bulging out of the bronze colored stone of his belly.

Alex walked over to the treasure box in front of the statue. He kicked it open and reached down into the box. “Heh, it’s an item that gives your weapons SP drain abilities, that’s exactly what I needed. Okay, then, guess I’ll head back to town.” He was swept up in a blue light and was back in Mac Anu.

“Well, I’ve put the thing on my gauntlets… Guess I’ll log out and check my email… Huh, what the? A short mail and it’s from… Akemi… She wants me to meet her at the Arche Koeln Waterfall… ∆ (Delta) Hidden Forbidden Radiation… I should head there now.”

Alex was swept up by the strange blue light and found himself on a segment of a broken aqueduct. All around him he saw waterfalls and a rainbow. At the other end of the old aqueduct he saw a female player character. A blue ribbon spiraled loosely down her left arm. She had on a zipped up white mid-riff jacket with a blue hood. She wore white short-shorts with a brown belt. Her right hip had a heart tattooed on it. She wore black braces on her legs. She had on high brown shoes. Her dark hair reached down her back.

“What did you want to talk about?” Alex asked, walking over to the girl.

“Good to see you again.” She turned around to face him. She flashed beautiful brown eyes at him. “I have to admit: I’m still getting used to the new look.”

“That makes both of us.” Alex chuckled a little.

“Anyway, I just wanted to talk to you… It helps me just to talk to you.”

“Same here, I…” Her face went pale and her expression became on of shock and terror. “Huh, is something wrong… Akemi, hey, are you okay?” He turned around. A silhouette surrounded by blue fire stood at the other end of the aqueduct.

The fire slowly dissipated revealing a PC in scarlet clothes and strange round hat. Messy blue hair came down from his hat covering and casting a shadow over his right eye but leaving his left easily seen. His left pant leg was yellow. The bottom of his shirt was torn and frayed.

“What the…? Who the hell are you?” Alex asked but the new character only breathed. The sound of him breathing sent a chill up Alex’s spine, he shivered.

The character held up its right arm, strange geometric shapes appeared around the arm and slowly rotated around it. A strange sphere of an unknown power appeared in his hand.

“What the hell…? I’ve never seen that skill before…” Black dots appeared around Alex’s feet and bubbled up in a shield. The character shot the energy at Alex only to have it be intercepted by the black dots.

“I-I’m hungry… Alex, I’ve bonded to your character, my name is Attrician… I’ve helped you every time I had the chance, now the only way for me to survive is to become on with you’re character.” The black dots were screaming for help, they threw themselves at Alex and disappeared into his character.

The character that had shot at Alex and Akemi was gone and nowhere to be found.

“I feel… weird…” His vision blurred.

“Alex, are you okay?” Akemi asked but he couldn’t hear her, he was dazed. Alex’s character disappeared and his consciousness faded.

In his room, Alex was asleep in front of his computer. The same voice that spoke to him in the game came to him in a dream.

“Alex… You’re character data will be changed to accommodate me, you will be making me stronger and I shall do the same to you. I protected you and the girl back there… I knew how felt about her so I had no choice. I will be sword and if need be… Your shield… Use you anger, your hatred and your sorrow and I will return your love.” The voice stated.

“Why would you risk your life to save Akemi and me…? I don’t get it. It’s just a game, what happened and what’s happening now?”

“My name is Attrician, I am what’s come to be called an AIDA… And there is more happening in “The World” than you could possibly comprehend… There, now your character is finished.” The voice said.

The character still looked the same but the jacket was gone and bubbling black dots surrounded his tattoos. Intricate patterns shifted and squirmed up and down his arms and went up to his chest and upper back, they reached across to each other. His hands were a deep black

“You will have a new class now… It’s called Rush Sabre.”

“What the hell? That isn’t one of the classes. How is it possible?”

“I said you’re character data would be altered and this is the result.”

Alex reached his right hand up and behind his back and slowly pulled out a weapon that resembled a fencing saber but with an actual cutting blade.
