This is a brand new song with my collaboration partner Albert Vinasco, we are now called "Gabriel", and if you are on Facebook you can find all of our songs there, just search for me (Sally Elsey) and follow the link to our Gabriel page.

I'm really pleased with this song, it's the first one I've recorded with all my new equipment, including my new audio interface, which means that there is now no background hiss on the vocals - pure luxury!

We still need to do the final mix, so any comments on the volume levels, particularly with the vocals in relation to the instruments, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for listening, and I hope you enjoy it!

Bozo Says:

Well it is never too late to hear from you! Because I love your voice and love words,I would be happier if the music wasn`t so loud. All in all it is a fine effort . I only wish I had someone to help give "body" to my songs. Well done! Your songs come so rarely, but when they do it is worth the wait.

Noburu Says:

God, I -love- how your voice sounds in harmony with itself.

The over-all balance is pretty solid, I think, actually. I might soften the drums a little bit, just because they aren't very exciting. I also have a different beat in my head for this, but it's basically impossible for me to describe it... I guess I would just love an eighth note on the snare right before the 4th beat, so it would go: quarter, quarter, half-tied-to-an-eight - eighth, quarter, repeat. Which would come out like, boom, boom, boom, bu-boom. ... Hahahaha.

OH MY GOD I put on my studio headphones to listen through for the third time instead of listening through my laptop and this song is GREAT. Please develop an album.

Starsity Says:

Like Bozo said, the music is a bit loud. Specifically after the beat picks up with the drums, etc. It makes it harder to hear your voice, and your voice is so lovely.

Not sure what I think about the long instrumental near the end, though. It's nice, but seems a bit much for all the repeating notes.

The volume levels seem fine to me. The song is excellent

I love the progression from the start, with the simple singing and orchestral feel, then the drums picking it up a bit, and then the guitars are just.....~

It's a good length too. Not too short, not too long. Ooooh riffs at 4:00 (*is still listenning*)

Such an excellent voice, and excellent, meaningful words.

Gotta love the build of the song. Cool stuff.

Min27 Says:

OMG. I love this song already.

You should release a CD or enter Idol or something. The world needs people like you to have recording contracts.

This is really interesting ...

I lol'd a bit because I was just about to say that the song was fantastic, but maybe it needed a guitar given the melody and feel; and then, it came right as the thought left my mouth.

But, I can really tell the difference with the Tascam. The vocal quality is a lot more warm and smooth. The song overall is excellent and I love it! I know you still have to do the final mix, but what you have here is gold by any standard to me.

If I were to give you any critiques regarding the volume relation to the vocals, I would have to say that they were fine. It'll be easily resolved in the final, maybe "brighter," mix. It's nothing to go crazy about .

Also, if I may suggest, and I want to emphasize that I'm in no way a voluntary singer; however, I think that a bit more articulated emotion would take this song to the next level, to me. It's just such an inspirational song with so many personal feelings that a listener could relate to in their life. And I believe that extra free spirited passionate expression on top of your spectacular voice would make this song boil over with greatness.

Kudos to the instrumentalist work as well. Speaking of which, there was one thing though during the song that seemed odd to me regarding the accented pauses: the timing of the earlier rests sounded milliseconds off (or it could be my bad rhythm lol). But the weird thing is the last rest accent, at 5:23-5:24, seemed to be right on the mark with the songs tempo. Like I said, it could be me, but it may be something to look at whenever you get around to it .

Again, this piece very much has potential, and like everyone else mentioned, it's a very worthy wait to fruition.

Thanks for making me smile!

Haha...

Just realized... sorry for the loooong comment
