One Class to Another -- Chapter 6
You're so nice... so warm... stay with me, please..?
That was the last thing Engineer had heard before waking up from a startling sound.
"ATTENTION, BLU TEAM!" A voice boomed over the rooms of the BLU team. "THIS IS THE FIRST DAY AT 2FORT! YOU WILL BE HERE FOR EXACTLY ONE WEEK BEFORE YOU DO YOUR WEEKLY SHIFT AT ORANGE X3. THE BATTLE WILL BEGIN IN FIFTEEN MINUTES. GET READY!" And the voice died away.
Engineer and Pyro sat up, looking around, wildly. The sound had awoken them both. Then, Engineer set his eyes upon Pyro. "...Eh..?" She stared back. "...What?" He blinked. "You.. your mask's off." It was true; Pyro's gas mask was off. In fact, it was safely tucked in her shoe. Immediately, Engineer could notice a few things about her. The left-half of her face was badly burned and singed. Her left eye was a shiny white, and her other eye was a deep golden yellow. She had short, messy hair that seemed to fly all over the place. Quickly and embarrassedly, Pyro looked away, and leaned over, reaching into her shoe. She tugged her mask out, and pulled it over her head. ".....d-d'n't t'll 'ny'nn.. 'k?" Engineer could already tell that she didn't want anyone knowing she was a girl. Well, everyone but Sniper and Scout; they already knew. Slowly, he nodded. "I'll keep it a secret.. don't worry, Py." And he grinned at her. Pyro blushed under her gas mask. "..Th-th'nkk y'uu.." Speedily, she jumped out of Engineer's bed and ran out of his room.
Engineer walked out. He noticed other people groggily walking out. Suddenly, Heavy ran right past him. Medic was riding on his back. I'll bet they do love each other... He thought, smiling to himself as he walked with everyone. Then, he stopped. ....Speakin' 'bout love... Silently, Engie walked past everyone, losing himself in his thoughts. He walked out of the hallway, and into the respawn. Scout and Sniper were already there, sitting on the benches. Sniper was glaring at Scout, though it was hard to notice through those sunglasses that he wore.
"God, get over it Sniper. S'not like what I said was true!" Scout argued, glaring back at Sniper. "Dere wasn't any reason ta do dat, ya half-wit juvenile!" Sniper argued back. Engineer sighed and walked up to the cubbies. There were things already in it. He reached in, though it was hard, seeing as his was on the top shelf and he was practically the shortest on the team. Pulling the items out one by one, he placed them on the bench next to the cubbies. There was a wrench, two PDAs, one for building, and the other for destroying what he had built, a yellow glove, and a note. He read it silently. "GO TO THE ARMORY FOR YOUR WEAPONS:
[ ] SHOTGUN
[ ] PISTOL
~~Announcer"
"Announcer, huh..?" Engineer muttered, a bit too loudly. Sniper looked up. "Yep.. yer new hea, roight? Da armory's dat way." And he pointed to a door opposite to the door that lead to the hallways. It was labeled, "TOP SECRET". Engie headed over to it, and then stopped. "...But it says Top Secret.." Sniper waved his hand lazily. "Pshh, relax mate. Scout 'n I got up early and checked it out, found out dat's the armory." Slowly, Engineer reached over and grabbed the knob. "Okay.." He turned it, and walked inside.
Sniper was right; there were a bunch of weapons all over, on both sides. They were set in open cupboards, as he slid his hands over them. There were so many.. And, then he noticed a shotgun pile. Slowly, Engineer picked it up. "..That's one.." He murmured, and looked around. He turned around, and then bumped into...
"Out of my way." He didn't sound friendly. Engineer looked up. It was the suited man from earlier. He pulled out his used cig and flicked it at Engineer. "I do not have all day." Quickly, he got up and out of his way. Silently, he walked past, and picked up what appeared to be very strange devices, and a revolver. He turned back. Engineer got up the courage to ask. "...Wh-who are you?" The man scoffed. "Did you ever pay attention to your training? I am ze Spy." He held a calm voice, but something seemed very dark and scary about him. Engineer slowly nodded. "..I'm--" "Engineer, yes, I know. Now, let me through." This 'Spy' wasn't very nice. Engie stepped out of the way, and Spy passed by. Quickly, he looked around, and found the other weapon he needed; the Pistol. He walked out as people began to flood into the armory.
Pyro was sitting on the bench next to Scout, glaring at Spy as he lit up another cigarette. Engineer sat next to Pyro. "...ya got yer weapons yet, Py?" Pyro looked at him and nodded, pointing toward her cubby. "Ah g'tt mai gh'ns b'f'rr g'ing t' y'uu." Engie nodded. "Alright, good..." He looked around, feeling nervous all of a sudden.
I hope nothin' goes wrong t'day..
