Okay, I'm not much of the religious type, but for me this is live board practice mixing.
The local church here needed someone capable of running the board, and I've been doing so since late spring.
The performance here is the last thirty-five minutes of practice spanning about fifty minutes or so. In this particular practice, they're learning a new song from Jo, the lead here...
My job here was to adjust the mix and get everyone in-tune. There are some things one would note about this, essentially that you're hearing the raw recording with less of the live ambience of the Sanctuary itself. (Which I dub 'contaminated sound' since I can't control it very well.) There are some minor issues they comment on about some feedback ringing. Frankly, I couldn't hear it amidst anything save for obvious points. But you'll hear me ask about it over everyone about five minutes in. I was adjusting individual channel equalizers today (the first time I did so since I started, since I was told 'don't touch these' at first. But now that I'm competent with the board...) and so I trimmed off some high frequencies and boosted low frequencies to bring the men out a little more prominently. Especially Lee and his awesome Vibrato Baritone voice.
Jo's got a bit of lead on everyone in power in this track, but trust me, it's hard to tell in the actual environment when you're trying to hear the headphones only.
