I went more with symbolism in this, that weird background you see is meant to resemble something of a cage and the blue ribbon is suppose to represent restraint and limit of his flight (was far fetched i know)

Daedalus and Icarus were imprisoned inside a Labyrinth. Although the master craftsman, Daedalus fashioned a pair of wings out of wax and feathers for himself and his son. Warning him not to fly too close to the sun. But Icarus, overcome by the giddiness that flying lent him, soared through the sky until the sun melted the wax and he fell into the sea.
