CAMELIA ANABELLE LEROUE never wanted to be a lady. Born into a rich house with a mother who loved most to flaunt her prettiest gowns and attract eyes, Camelia stood no chance of saying so. It wasn’t until her mother remarried into money and called a carriage for her to be sent to a Lady’s Etiquette boarding school that Camelia ever took a stand.

In order to protect herself in her travels far away from home, Camelia took the disguise of a young boy using her brother’s clothes. She set off for a long dreamed-of land known as North Courtier, in hopes of finding her rightful place there. But she never expected to be saved from an accidental scuffle by a strange man, mistaken for an actual boy, and asked for her apprenticeship in return, no questions asked.

Now, in order to keep safe in a new and strange land the man brought her to, Camelia must continue her apprenticeship in disguise, amongst his many cats and visiting ladies who, strangely enough, find Camelia attractive.

Escaping lady travelers, tidying after cats, and bending to the every whim of this outrageous man and his NoForm companion…Camelia believes it’s hardly bearable. But secrets and mystery tales of this stranger keep her interest alive as she continues to pay him back for rescuing her. And what harm could poking around for the truth do?

Involve her in a war beyond her understanding and everything she ever believed in? She certainly thought not.
