Silence is Madness

Silence is so freaking loud.
You're trapped in it with
nothing but your thoughts
and memories.
Pain and guilt surface and your
fears come as well.
You try to calm yourself but
your mind unleashes a torrent of
emotions and memories on you.

The silence is deafening.
It speaks the truth and lays
everything out for any witnesses,
or just your lonesome self,
to hear.
You're all alone in the silence,
and your thoughts race as you wonder
how to make the noise go
away.

The silence is madness.
Left alone to your thoughts,
you have to face every hurtful
and bad and guilty and painful
memory that you have.
With no one around to hear ou,
you lock yourself up and only
let loose silent tears.
Anger comes knocking its nonexistant
beat on your mind's door and
brings with it a long ignored guest,
Insanity.
You become the silence.
