As I may or may not have mentioned, I joined an art class at the local college. The instructor wants us to only use charcoal, and so for practice, I drew a page with a bunch of stuff on it. These pieces of paper are VERY big, so the best I could do was pin it to a wall and take pictures. This is my first attempt at using charcoal. I rather like it, but it's very messy. The hands are my own which I looked at during drawing, and the realistic portrait was found in a National Geographic magazine. The anime portrait was just made up.

And I don't find anything wrong with drawing anime, I just think that learning human anatomy is important before attempting to draw it. Otherwise it sort of takes away from what you can learn. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
