Ceteri - Before it starts
Over the countless expanse of time and space, life had flourished. From the universal core, to the outer rims of the shell, there was always life to enjoy the mysteries the universe held.
But what joy is there, what mystery is there, when you’re living off the dieing embers of what once was great? Can you even claim to have a purpose when you don’t live your life, when you’re only a tooth to a turning gear assisting what life there is to hang by a thread? Why do we persist, why do we struggle, why can’t we except that there is an end?
We live in the degenerate era, where coals of once proud stars slowly burn out, and we huddle around them for heat praying for a miracle...
When you’re grasping to life like this...you begin to wonder if there even is a god...

Uhm, bleh, dunno, wanted to write a story, had a few lines jumbled in my head so I wrote them down. I AM going to write a story, and just for a brief summary it basically goes like this...
It is the degenerate era, a time so ahead of today that if you mentioned Earth people would tilt their heads and ask "Wha?". All life is huddled around Red Dwarfs, the only remaining stars in the universe. Stations are constructed around them to gather the energy it lets off.
You'd think that every living thing would be struggling to help survie, right? Pfft, wrong. creatures called Anti-Beings have, since the overall dissappearance of decent light sources in the galaxy, began to take over dark space. They live happily in absolute zero temperatures and utterly hate the remaining life that's huddled around the red dwarfs. With the Ceteri having focused on building machines and devices to lengthen their survival, their future seems pretty bleak, especially since the Anti-Beings have fleets itching to pull the trigger.
I'm probably going to change a few things, but eh, that's the overall story.
HA! How's that for orginality? I know, not a whole lot. :\ But I don't know anyone else who has a story set in the Degenerate Era, and the fact I had to go trillions of trillions of years ahead of today to get a slightly original storyline kinda makes me sad that I had to come to that for something a bit original. -shrugs-
