Lighthouse story chapter 7

I yawned and stretched my arms out. I opened my eyes and looked up at the ceiling I turned my head and saw Dawn sitting beside me.
"Hello sleepy head," she greeted me. I frowned the last thing I remember was finding Mil and carrying her back, but when did I arrive here at Dawn's house? As if reading my mind Dawn explained, "you passed out on the way home so I carried you and Scar carried Mil. Our dad looked at you but he says there's nothing wrong, you're just shocked and bruised."
"How's Mil?"
"Dad's with her now and he said she has a few minor breakages but she was lucky and it could have been a lot worse." I heaved a sigh of relief.
"Thanks for everything," I told her, "you basically saved our lives."
"Its ok, when I first saw you I felt that I could trust you and that you would be a great friend."
"It's the same for me. I feel as if I know you but I know I don't."
"You need to rest for another day here and Mil needs to stay where she is in bed for a week but then you can go home. Would you like me to call your parents?" I sighed I still hadn't told her our situation.
"No," I said firmly, "we were only on the zip wire to escape the light house where we live with our horrible mum. We're not lunatics we would never do something that dangerous normally."
"It's ok," Dawn smiled kindly, "you can stay with us forever if you need, you're already like a sister to me and dad's never really around us anyway."
"Thank you, you feel like a sister as well. I mean we both have twin sisters," I yawned.
"Rest now," Dawn hugged me and gently pushed my head back to the pillow, "I'll go and check on Mil and Scar. You can see Mil in the
morning tomorrow when you've had your days rest."
"Thank you Dawn," I whispered as she left. Then I fell into a long peaceful sleep.
