The Voyage: On the Threshold

This is the Overture to a suite I'm currently working on. The composition as a whole is intended to be a fusion of traditional jazz music and romantic classical styles (with plenty of room left over for my zany ideas otherwise). The suite basially follows the chronicles of a boy who enters an alternate reality (presumably through dreaming though it will be left unresolved and intentionally ambiguous) and his quest to deliver the planet from a cruel ruler who hates the colour pink and force people to do silly things like kick trees all day. On his journey he meets a hippie tambourine player named "Constantine" and a red fox named Dante. Maybe others, I haven't decided yet.
