This is not intended as a tutorial, otherwise I'd have been a little more helpful. I just had a lot of screencaps and saves of this because it's MS paint so it's not like I had layers or anything. But it's a good example of my thought-process/how many times I change a piece and its colors in the course of working on it.
Mostly, it's about color, and spur of the moment decisions reharding it. Don't be afraid to completely change the color of a piece, because you may end up liking it better.
