Forgotten Part 37: New party member!
Deserts are dry and often have shredding winds of sand. The sun beams down like a torch inches away as the sand glittered in the light. Traversing the Southern Deserts is a plan best done prepared. A camel with two passengers walked over the many dunes. The driver was wrapped in thousands of cloths while the backseat was manned by a bird in some shiny rubber. The one in front stared at the dunes of beige in front of him.
“You know, I’m a deity too.” The bird looked away from the scrolls he was reading. “Deity of life. It’s why I stay in the desert; less people to help.” He released a loud cackle. “My element is fur. My clothes and bags are made of it. And I’m human with a fur coat!” He laughed again. His cackle was a piercing blow to anybody’s hearing organ. “Now here’s my plan: I’m dropping you at the nearest civilised area.”
“Why?” Vladimir sighed.
“Because I don’t want to drag a useless bird along in a necromancer circus!” The travel was dull. Deserts provided little things to look at, perhaps the occasional rock. After a long time, they noticed a road with sand blocks next to them. The camel stopped in front of a store, before the man kicked the bird out. He grabbed his bag and walked to a nearby bar, as he was quite thirsty.
Inside, torches lit the humid air. There was little crowd, and the only people there were hanging over the tables they occupied. Darkness was in almost every corner and the bar was the only place that was lit properly. He walked over to the bar and grabbed a seat. The barman placed a glass of water in front of him, as he pondered on where to go next.
“I don’t know anybody. Where do I go?” He stared at the rippling water. He needed a goal, something to do. Preferably one where he doesn’t hurt anybody. The wall was decorated with many bottled filled with many kinds of beverages. The bird dropped his head on the counter and moaned. Suddenly, with a firm blow, the door opened. A large, powered armour made big, shocking steps inside. It reached the bar and stood next to the bird. It turned its pitch black visor with four bright lights to the bird.
“You’re new around here.” Its voice was deep and rumbling like an earthquake, but also robotic in some way. It didn’t sit down, just stand and shine the lights into the bird’s vision. A small blue ball appeared from the door and hovered closer.
“Miss Cassandra! I do not approve of your actions!” The little floating orb was clear blue with a bright white spot as eye. A few halos hovered around it in a very slow fashion, which kept it in flight. Each moved in a random direction, chancing it as they went on. “I am a monitor unit and should not be disposed of or abandoned without proper obligations in that area!”
“Shut up, Vally!” The robot said without diverting sight from the bird.
“How preposterous! My serial number is Version Axis Low-Lev 3217. I am not to be approached with the term “Vally”!” The sphere was quite upset by the suit’s actions and shot her with a small laser. “Your purchase of my unit requires you to assign me by predetermined terms!” The suit’s large hand grabbed the things outer halo and stopped it, causing it to fall. “I do not agree with these actions!”
“Hi, I’m Halo Cassandra.” The suit removed the helmet, revealing a beautiful white wolf.
