Mermai Story - 1
The sun was bright and many of the beach goers were asleep. The young children splash around in the shallow waters while the older children enjoyed themselves in the deeper waters. But on this particular beach a bright yellow rope with buoys dividing the ocean almost in half. Swimmers were not aloud to pass this line. But there was something pass the rope, something very interested in the humans.
A young girl, only about 16, watched beyond the yellow rope. Her long blonde with blue highlights stuck to her body as the heat of the sun dried her face. Her blue eyes never once blinded as she stared at the humans. This girl was the perfect picture of a normal teenager, except for a blue, slim tail where her legs should be.
“Riley,” the girl shuddered at her name, “What are you doing?” Riley turned and saw a young lady staring strictly at her. This was her sister, Belle. Belle was very different from her sister. Belle had a very long, purple tail. Her hair was short, brown and had purple highlights. Belle was 20, but she has been 20 for about 2 years.
When mermaids turn 20 they stop ageing physically and they are able to whatever they wish. Belle wanted to go explore the World, but when she was young her Father died and her Mother left an few years later and that is when she decided to stay and watch over Riley. Belle soon became like a Mother to Riley. Belle was very strict, but she use to be very curious and happy like Riley. When Riley turned 20 she wanted to leave home and see the World and find out more about humans. Riley has always been fascinated with humans, but Belle disapproved of everything the humans did.
Riley rolled eyes, “I’m just looking.”
“But what if they saw you,” Belle yelled.
“I never go pass this yellow thing. And they would just think I’m another girl.”
Before Belle could speak Riley dove into the water, Belle angrily followed her, “Do not run away from the problem.”
Riley stopped and turned around, “I’m not running, I’m just tired of hearing the same thing over and over again!”
“I won’t have to repeat myself if you just start following the rules!”
“I don’t want to follow the rules! I want to follow my heart,” Riley smiled, ”I heard that we can be human during the day if we stay dry.”
Belle’s face went blank as if she was trying fathom what Riley just said, “We are not doing that for 2 reasons. 1 that’s a myth and 2 the humans are dangerous!”
Riley sighed in anger, “I just want to know how you know that humans are dangerous!”
Belle went silent. Her eyes darken and looked down at her tail. The light that reflected of her tail made her face purple, “I just do Riley.”
