X-Men fan fiction: Normal Life ch.4
4
Keith woke, his hands were in strange cuffs and he had something wrapped around his eyes. He couldn’t see anything, not that there was much to see in the first place. He was in a square metal room. There was a door on one of the walls with a small opening for guards to keep an eye on him.
“God dammit… It feels like Bobby was slapping me… Right, he was… Ow…” He mumbled almost angrily.
“Keith? Keith, are you there? Are you awake?” A young woman’s voice called to him.
“Yeah, I’m here. Cat, is that you? Where are you?” He stood up and looked around the room, frantically trying to hear her voice.
“I’m in the cell next to yours and Bobby’s is just across from you.”
“What’s going on? Where are we?”
“They’re officers from something called the T. F. D. M. I don’t know why but they captured us.”
“Ugh, this is a real pain… Hey, wait a minute, why can’t we just get out of here?”
“I’m in a room where they always have the heat blasting and it’s making it impossible for me to use my powers.” Bobby’s voice broke into the conversation.
“Kitty, why can’t you just phase through the walls?” Keith asked.
“They put weird hand cuffs on all of us. They either inject us with something that knocks us out or they shock us.” She stated plainly.
“That’s weird… I’ve been trying to blast my way out these annoying things but nothing’s happening. Maybe it’s just because these cuffs and visor just neutralize my powers. Hold up just a minute, I’ve got an idea.” He backed up to one of the walls and charged at the opposite wall. He smashed into the wall and fell to the ground. “Ow…” He mumbled in a discouraged tone.
He slowly got back to his feet and charged at the opposite wall. Again he crashed down to the ground. “Ow, god dang it…! I have to get out of here!” He said in a dizzy voice. He pulled himself backwards to another wall. He smashed his cuffs into the wall then the visor. “All I’m doing is giving myself a massive headache.”
“Did you really think that would work? God you must be retarded…” Bobby said from his cell.
Footsteps from soldiers came barreling down the hallway and opened the cell that Keith. “Stop resisting or we will be forced to shoot!” One soldier ordered. Two more guards walked in with him.
Keith spun around, now facing a wall. “What’s going on?” He asked dully.
“Turn around!” The same soldier demanded. Keith spun around and accidentally whacked one of the guards with the cuffs. The guard fell to the ground screaming, the right side of his face was starting to swell. The two remaining guards pointed their guns at the blind Keith.
“Get on the ground now!” The other guard yelled.
“What, what’s going on? I don’t even understand what I did.”
The soldier pulled a radio from his vest and pressed a button. The still standing guard forced Keith to the wall and he broke out into laughter and accidentally kicked the guard in the groin. He fell to the ground crying and coughing.
“I need back up!” The soldier said in to the radio.
“I don’t know what’s going on--!” He was cut off by the butt of a rifle smacking him in the jaw. He spat out two teeth. “I taste blood, is that a problem?” He tried asking but his voice was muffled by a cloth covered with chloroform. He passed out.
