From the extraterrestrial perspective, I was intrigued by the buildings of Earth. The dominant species of this planet certainly seem well defended against an attack from above. Almost every earthling construct seems to have gun barrels or cannons protruding from its ceiling!
This is an image I worked on for part of a summer course. I was partially inspired by the magniloquent isolation of Gertrude Zachary's fortress. It is a gilded and unusual building that lords over an industrial wasteland. With high and piked walls, in tandem with barbed wire and a desolate landscape, she makes it clear she wants no part of the outside world.
