R2-B7 has spent most of his life serving on a Corellian freighter. After many years of loyal service R2-B7 was sold to a small shipping company, where he was put into service working stock rotation in a warehouse in the Orange District of Coruscant. Shortly after the formation of the Empire a local gang broke into the warehouse, killed the workers and sold everything they stole on the black market.
R2-B7 found himself serving on a ship once more, though this time it was under less reputable circumstances. R2-B7 was bought by the captain of a small pirate group from Taris, who called themselves The Scars of Taris. After many succesful raids, The Scars of Taris were returning to their hidden base located on a small asteroid near Taris, when they were attacked by a rival pirate organisation.
During the skirmish the pirates boarded The Scars of Taris' ship and a savage firefight ensued. during the firefight R2-B7 took it upon himself to attack the rival pirates. Through carefully timed computer terminal explosions, amd locking doors, R2-B7 managed to halt the pirate's attack. Then R2-B7 took control of the ships guns and blew the docked pirate ship into oblivion. As the pirate ship was destroyed by R2-B7, it's locking mechanisms ripped part of the hull from The Scars of Taris' ship opening most of the ship to the vacuum of space.
The captain of The Scars of Taris was the only surviving pirate and thanked R2-B7 for his bravery. The captain discovered that his ship could only operate on sublight drives, so asked R2-B7 to plot a course for Taris. Shortly after, the captain succumbed to his wounds and died. Whilst on the way to Taris the ship's sublights failed and nocked the ship off course.
The ship still drifts through space to this day, and R2-B7 still waits patiently next to the remains of his captain, ever vigilant, awaiting his captain's next command...
