I don't share the majority of what I sketch. Most of the time I do a warm-up sketch, then hit "close" without saving a copy. Why? Because they're just warm-up sketches meant to get me going or exercises I use to help me learn anatomy. But, I thought there might be some interest so, why not post them?
Now, it may take me a bit to remember to do this. I've gotten into the habit of tossing sketches aside and not keeping them. Which means, I have to retrain myself a bit. Also, most of these will not be finished or refined. I'm trying to keep them within a half-hour, so wherever I am at the end of thirty minutes is where the sketch stops.
I thought I'd try sketching one of Alphonse Mucha's works. He being one of my favorite artists and all. I love his eye for detail. Following the rule, this is what I got done in thirty minutes. The piece I was looking at was The Precious Stones, Emerald.
