Things to Scare You at Bedtime
I was in my bed, and it was so dark that I could not see anything. I could hear my cat purring, and then the pressure of her paws as she jumped onto my bed. She came towards me, purring softly, her little paws walking on my stomach. I was glad that my cat was here, because I was feeling really nervous because I could not see. My eyes hadn't adjusted yet. My kitty rubbed her fuzzy face on me, and it made me feel comforted. Then, suddenly a round razor sharp mouth was on my face, like a leech. My cat's face had transformed into something horrible and evil, and I couldn't see it but I could feel it's teeth on my face.
I was in my bed, and it was dark but I could see lightening flashing outside my window. I couldn't see anything, except I kept seeing flashes of white from my window. The lightening was bothering me a lot, I pulled the covers up over my face, but I could still see the bright flashes of it. I got up, and I went to the window to draw the blinds closed. Then, I realized that the flashes of lightening were not lightening: they were the flashes of cameras. There was a whole bunch of dead people lined up outside my window, taking pictures of me, like a zombie paparazzi.
I was in my bed, and it was too dark to see, so I closed my eyes. I listened to my own breathing, and I listened to the cars going by out my window. I heard thunder rumbling, and I could hear my kitty purring at the edge of my bed. I heard the clock ticking, too, and I heard crickets singing. I opened my eyes, and suddenly I could see clearly as day. All those noises that I thought were coming from familiar things were all coming from this horrible alien. It had a million parts that made different sounds, and it looked terrifying and disgusting.
I was in my bed, and I had woken up from an awful nightmare. I couldn't see, but I knew where I had put my cell phone. I grabbed it and opened it, glad to have some light finally. I turned the bright screen to face me, and I started typing a text message to you, Raoul. I heard my cat purring, so I turned the light of my cell phone to look for her. When I turned the cell phone around, I saw the most awful monster face, it was dripping with slimy acid and it had no eyes. Skin had grown over it's empty eye sockets, as if it had never had eyes at all.
I was in my bed, and I was looking at the silhouette of the door to my bed room. The only light I could see was coming from the hallway, and it was very dim. There was a little light coming from the window, too, so I could see the outline of the window panes. I felt something dripping on my face, it was really cold and acrid. I thought it was rain water leaking through the ceiling, so I ignored it. Then, I noticed the silhouette of the door start to go all wavy, more and more. The window panes, too, they weren't straight anymore. They all started to twist and melt, and suddenly I realized that my whole room was melting with me inside it. It melted like yellow, sticky earwax, and I was encased in it.
I was in my bed, lying on my side, with my ear against my mattress. I couldn't see anything at all. I started hearing scratching noises coming from my mattress, and I got really confused and scared. I didn't know what was going to come out of my mattress. I turned on to my back, and started watching the ceiling. It took me a while, but I started to realize that the ceiling was moving. It was hard to tell, because I could barely see and my eyes were tired, but the ceiling was definitely descending. The ceiling was coming down on me, but I was paralyzed, I was so dead tired that I could not move. The ceiling descended to inches above my eyes, and I could see that the ceiling was veiny and throbbing in a disgusting, human way.
I was in my bed, and I was trying not to let my legs dangle off the sides of it. I was afraid that if I did, a hand would grab my leg and pull me down into darkness. I huddled under the blanket, feeling really nervous. Then, I lifted my blanket, and looked into the darkness underneath it. The dark space between my blanket and my bed became a huge abyss. I tried to grab on to my mattress, but my blanket pulled me into a huge, black nothingness.
I was in my bed, and I was feeling itchy all over. I could feel the hairs on my legs bothering me, because I needed a shave. They rubbed against the inside of my pajama pants, and they felt like little bugs crawling all over me. My arm hair was tickling me too, so I looked at my arm and I saw that there was a little ant crawling on it. Then, I saw some more ants, and soon I realized that there were a whole bunch of ants crawling on me. I leaped out of bed and started to brush them off, but they kept coming. Then, while I was batting at the ants, I noticed a teeny tiny hole in my thigh. The ants were coming out of that hole, and they just kept coming in a long, black line.
I was in my bed, and I could only see the silhouettes of the objects in my room. My eyes had adjusted slightly, but only well enough to see shapes in the darkness. My eyes were watering, because I was so tired. I felt a little wet tear on my face, and I brushed it off. Then, all the blackness in front of me became a screen. Bloody, gorey, terrifying images were projected on the black emptiness in my room. I couldn't stand it, I didn't want to see those things. I kept wiping tears from my eyes, but then when I looked at my hands I saw that the tears were actually dark red blood.
