Lucky Star screenplay
Lucky*Star Scene 1:
Kagami: Konata! Why are you in here? I was just about to go over to Kuroi-sensei’s room to meet you two for lunch.
Konata: Quick! I’ve triggered an event and now the boss is coming to annihilate me! I need the item!
Kagami: Wha- what are you talking about?!
Tsukasa: (sounds worried) Kona-chan forgot her book and Kuroi-sensei is going to give her detention if she doesn’t get it by next period.
Kagami: Seriously… no one understands your world. Hey, Tsukasa… how’d you know what she was blabbering about anyway?
Tsukasa: Kuroi-sensei threatened Kona-chan in front of the whole class.
Kagami: That’s what you get. Here. Geez, how come you always forget things if you leave all your books here?
Konata: (sounds proud) Oh, well… the other day one of the guys on my squad was talking about an event that paralleled something in history, so I took home my book and decided to read about it so we could get more background information on the quest…
Tsukasa: Ah! Kona-chan, that’s so cool!
Kagami: I gotta admit… as twisted as the reason for it is, you actually studied.
Konata: Yeah, but then last night the guy was all, ‘Sorry, my bad… I was thinking about a manga I read… it wasn’t an actual event!’ So I went out and bought the manga he was talking about and read that instead.
Kagami: Typical. And exams are next month, too…
Konata: But I’m spending less time online and reading more!
Kagami: Hmm? Is that so?
Konata: Mm-hm! Like yesterday I only spent 7 hours online, then spent 15 minutes reading that manga-based novel you lent me, and then I read Sgt. Frog until around 3 in the morning.
Tsukasa: (Sounds impressed) Wow! That’s a lot.
Konata: Yeah, I had a bunch of unread volumes piled up so…
Kagami: Finish the novel! And I bet you didn’t even look at the assignment for next week.
Tsukasa/ Konata: We have an assignment?!
Tsukasa: (softly in background) Ahhhh, where’d I put it? Is it in my bag? Maybe I left it on my desk at home? Eek! I cleaned out my folder last night! Did I throw it out?!
Konata: I’ll ask sensei about it online tonight.
Kagami: That really is sad. Poor Kuroi-sensei. She can’t even escape you at home.
Konata: (Sounds sappy and romantic) Unless you wanna give it to me… Kagamin?
Tsukasa: Ah! Yuki-chan!
Miyuki: Hmm? Tsukasa-san! What’s wrong? You look so frazzled! (laughs lightly)
Konata: Hmm. Miyuki-san. You have the assignment for next week. What do we have to do?
Miyuki: Oh, you must have been asleep for that part in class today, Konata. (laughs)
Konata: (makes irking sound)
Kagami: That sounds about right. And this one just doesn’t pay attention.
Tsukasa: Tee hee! Sorry, oniichan.
Kagami: Yeah, yeah.
Miyuki: Well, you have to read the section in the course book about the Qin Empire in China, and then write a three paragraph response on how the political aspects of the dynasty could have been improved in order to lengthen the era during which the Qin reigned.
(silence)
Konata: Miyuki-san, lets have a study session this weekend!
Tsukasa: Yeah, we can review for the assignment and study for tests!
Miyuki: Sounds like fun! Lets do it at my house on Saturday! I’ll be sure to have snacks!
Kagami: It’s settled then. Saturday.
Konata: … Ohhh, Kagamin doesn’t know much about the Qin? Really should pay more attention to the sensei!
Kagami: I’m there to study for the testing! And the Qin stuff is in the text book you should’ve been reading last night anyway!
Konata: Is it? I thought for sure it would’ve been in our Japanese book.
Kagami: The Qin are from CHINA! And it’s history!
Tsukasa: Aren’t the Qin still around today? Why would it be in the history books already?
Kagami: … The Qin have been dead for centuries.
Konata: Saturday it is!!!!!
