Velvet CD Label

Back when I used an iMac and a slow, yet reliable CD Burner, CD-RW's actually worked! I created this CD label for the CD I used to back up my cheesecake and projects.
Velvet seems to be in a sort of Michelangelo-style pose.
I also tried coloring it with color pencils. But they always get too dark and saturated. I don't care if they're prismacolors, they're still just fancy crayons...

Anyway, with this picture, I attempted the shading methods described in this tutorial.
I used these same methods when I did this picture as well!

I no longer shade this way. I have a better method these days.

PS: Ain't it crazy what's considered "mature" on SheezyArt?
But then, I guess it's just a matter of what your used to.
Still... I can't imagine a kid being traumatized by this!
