Here's Quaid again with a bit of a makeover and in a non-desert environment. No, I don't know what his problem is. He's being attacked by a mist monster or something--use your imagination! I basically kept him the same--just changed his spines. Now the top ones are short and bleached by the sun, and there are only four long ones on his head. I also lengthened the ones on the sides of his face. Maybe he has some echidna blood in him; how the heck should I know? Also, on the undersides of the large spines, the color is darker as it sees less sun.
I was originally going to have sand swirling around him, (because I really didn't want to do his feet,) but I felt like using blues and greys...so I did. Take that. I tried something different with the shading because I was feeling exceptionally lazy and this was fun. At first I wanted to make something and make it good....but I lost my motivation shortly after finishing the sketch. Sorries.
Here is the mostly-flat-color version:

And because I think it looks somewhat neat:

I LOVE that expression and the whispy background. Plus if he's a hedgehog (can't read desc right now) that's a very original design. He doesn't look recolorish at all! I'm so moved. LOL Nice job! You're work always inspires me.
