okieodkie first lesson.....Anatomy....muscle ton shoul not be defined using lines, espechely when the lines you drew for mussles are in places muscel tone doesent even exist =O.o= the males back is hunched to much, it makes him look hunch abck and th face is to pointed. to many points and squars. i see not enough skin detail, there is more to skin tones insted of 2. the fingers right off teh bat are bad. you were careless w/ them.
for coloring, hilights are a good thing dont fear them. No hilights are in thehair so it makes it look rather flat and no deff to them what so ever. it looks like you did some detail w/ the girls hair but then got lazy and stoped.
again squiggle lines do not help w/ tone, even in cloths. take a look at wrinkled cloths and see if they just have squiggles on them? i dont think you will. you need a better study in wrinkles.
the only thing i really like in this image is the girls legs, but she has no toes? ..where did they go?
i sugest a anatomy book, and a book on tone and lighting. keep at it though just do more and focus on yur image and take time to add detail. it only makes you better.
