Decrion- Part 7

I screamed, falling backwards, my behind having a lovely meeting with the grass covered ground.
He sighed as I got to my feet again. I took a deep breath in to steady myself, but then I was too scared to move. I wasn’t scared about myself getting hurt while I practiced; more about the trees and the clearing getting hurt.
“Calm down, Tasmia,” he said, coming behind me, “Don’t let them take control. You are the only one who can control them.”
It was hard to concentrate with him right behind me, his hands holding my arms, his warmth and close proximity making me dizzy.
“Now,” he said, “Concentrate.”
I took a deep breath in, closing my eyes, tuning everything out, except out steady breathing. That helped me, made it easier.
I could feel it, the tingling beginning in my fingertips, spreading through my body. I tuned out my emotions, the distracting ones, and made myself concentrate more, the tingling growing and strengthening, the same humming in my ears.
He stretched my arms out straight, my palms facing ahead. I took a step forwards and curled my hands into fists.
With a speed that impressed even me, I turned, punching the ground with my fist, the energy branching out from me, burrowing in the ground, a sparkling green path left behind by each branch, beautiful flowers bursting out of the ground, spreading their delicate scent all around us, the grass becoming more lush than before, the leaves on the tress sparkling a beautiful emerald green.
I stood up slowly, opening my eyes. It had only lasted for about five seconds. I looked around me, the trees around me spreading out for as far as the eye could see. Another world.
I felt two eyes staring at me, and for once I didn’t blush. I stared back into those startled blue eyes, smiling slightly. I was shocked yes, but also calm, more comfortable than usual. Not just because of his presence, but also because I knew that I could use my powers now, even if I found new ones, I knew it wouldn’t take long to be able to control those too.
It was completely silent, nothing but the sound of the leaves rustling in the wind, the creak of the tree branches. The silence seemed so loud, it pressed against my ears. I wanted to say something, anything.
“So?” I asked tentatively, “How was I?”
He stepped closer to me, as he spoke, taking my hands and pressing them together. “Amazing,” he whispered. I was sure my heart skipped a beat them. I smiled, relieved. I could do this. The first task couldn’t come fast enough for me.
