Decrion- Part 5
Madinia is a beautiful place, in the heart of the universe. A planet that used to be like Earth, peaceful, but with it’s usual troubles. There were wars yes, not as bad as those on Earth, but still devastating in their own ways. But there was one war, that was so huge, it split Madinia from it’s real rulers.
Your mother, is the rightful Queen. Her mother, your grandmother, was a truly hideous person. She lived for power. She was horrified, when her own daughter, your mother, Tamero, was made Queen. Your grandmother knew that Tamero was kind hearted, a wonderful person. Everyone loved her, which was the usual with every Queen. But your grandmother, Keiko, hated Tamero. Keiko was cruel, and wanted the powers of not only Madinia, heart of the universe, but the powers of all the other planets. There was a huge war, Keiko, using the other power hungry people as her army, the others fighting against her. It resulted in terrible bloodshed.
So your mother, fearing for your life, the future of Madinia, fled to Earth, the past. Your time now. You’re not even from this time. Madinia at this moment is quiet and peaceful, the reign of Queen Hator.
The protectors come from Madinia, to protect those in danger, who deserve it the most. I am a protector, and I have been watching over you, for the past year. At thirteen, your powers began to show, earlier than most Madinians. I will help you, until I can help no more. I will fade into oblivion in a few years, but I have been waiting since the beginning of time to serve you. I am yours, Queen Tasmia.
I listened to story of my life. It was like a fairy tale, something from a book. I sat there, my hands still placed in his upturned palms, my legs crossed like his.
“So, what your saying is,” I said, hoping I’d gotten this right, “I have to get rid of this Keiko person…my grandma…and then rule Madinia?”
He nodded, watching me with cautious eyes.
“Oh, crap,” I whimpered, “I can’t do this…I can’t….” My voice broke at the end, a tear rolling down my cheek. I reached up to wipe it away, but he got there before me.
“You’ll be fine,” he reassured me, wiping away my tear with a finger, “You have a while before Keiko finds out you’re out to get her. She’s in the future at this moment in time, 2135. Here, in the 21st century, you’re safe. For now.”
So I was here, in a time that wasn’t my own, to fight someone in the future?
“Are you alright?” he asked, looking worried.
“Fine,” I squeaked, “I just think my brain just melted is all.” I think I’d forgotten to mention that I had the mental capacity of a teaspoon.
He smiled again, calm washing over me like a warm tidal wave. I felt my heart pick up speed, instead of calming down properly, but I felt a little better now.
“You have to perfect your powers now,” he said, squeezing my hands gently, “Now is the best time, while your powers are forming.”
I nodded, trying to take in as much as possible. I’d have to expand my mind somehow.
He instructed me to calm down and relax, as this was the easiest way for my powers to flow. It was still hardly believable to me, but I listen anyway. I mean, if I’d been able to form a fireball in my own two hands, and talked to my TV, then I could do this, right?
I felt a sudden rush of electricity, not only in my arms, but all over my body. I breathed out, and it got stronger, trickling down to my toes, my hair feeling as if it was standing on end.
I finally let the energy leak out of me, centering in my chest, then slowly fading. I took a deep breath in, then let it out, once all the energy was gone.
I opened my eyes slowly, and couldn’t hold back a gasp. His skin was glowing, and I could tell that it had been brighter before, because it was fading now. The glowing stopped a few seconds later, and he opened his eyes, the beautiful blue colour taking my breath away. I was shocked by that sudden thought. How could I think that? Sure, he’d been protecting me for the past year, and I’d only known that now, but that didn’t mean just because I’d finally met him, I had to think this way. Did it?
“Perfect,” he breathed, my hands still in his, “They are very strong, even now.”
I swallowed and nodded, still confused by my alien emotions. Alien…I guess that’s what I was now…
“You mean they’ll get stronger?” I frowned, wondering how that was possible. I still felt sort of…fuzzy, as if I was holding onto a live wire. But it was very comfortable. Ticklish, almost.
“Yes, over time. It’s only natural, but yours are still very strong. I’ve never come across powers so strong.” He frowned slightly, and I found myself panicking slightly. Did that mean I was some kind of freak?
Oddly, I was starting to feel calm. I realized his eyes were doing that to me, making me feel like that. But I couldn’t snap out of it. I welcomed the feeling, letting it seep through my body…
But then, I wanted to experiment a little. See if I really could fight back. So I concentrated and fought back.
It was effortless, it was so simple. I could feel the faint push, like someone was pushing two magnets against each other, the poles repelling. It was nothing to me.
“Very strong…”
I was hardly paying attention. I was lost on his eyes again…
I shook my head, clearing my mind. I couldn’t let this happen to me. I hardly knew him, for crying out loud! I had to keep telling myself that.
