Decrion- Part 4

I ran into school, hoping I wouldn’t miss him. I had to talk to him, and find out what this was all about.
I didn’t even have to look for him though, since I bumped into him.
I fell into his outstretched arms. He steadied me, until I could stand up by myself.
“Ok,” I said, still gasping for air slightly, “Explain to me why this is happening.”
“I can’t…not here. Unless…”
I looked up at his face. Was he telling me to ditch school??
“I’m not going to ditch school, no matter how important it is,” I said, firmly.
“What, too scared?” he asked, a light smile on his lips.
“No,” I said, “I’m just not an idiot.”
He smiled wider. “First test of responsibility passed. You’ll make an excellent Queen.”
I gave him an odd look. “Tell me when you start making sense.”
Then suddenly, out of nowhere, he grabbed my hair band, and fled.
He was so fast, I saw nothing, only felt the rush of air as he left. I stood there for about a second, my hair falling around my face. Then, instinctively, I took off after him.
I didn’t expect to catch him, he was too fast, even though I was pretty fast too. The walls and people on either side of me didn’t blur and merge together as I ran, but I felt the air around me blow past.
The sweet scent from before hit me after about five seconds of running, and I followed it, ignoring the crowded hallways and chattering students.
I found him, skipped ahead, then slammed him into the wall, one hand around his throat.
I snarled at him, my face about an inch from his. A split second later, I realized what I was doing, and stepped back, letting go of him.
He grinned, making me even more suspicious. It didn’t look like he’d be giving me any answers anytime soon.
“See you after school,” he called over his shoulder, as he left. I would have slapped him, but there were witnesses. I’d just have to wait. But problem was, I wasn’t exactly the most patient of people.

“Are you going to tell me now?” I asked, as soon as I’d caught up with him.
“Not here,” he muttered, slipping out of the throng of people streaming out of the school gates. I followed him, still wary. If this guy was some sort of dangerous criminal, or a lunatic from a hospital, then I was in trouble.
The same deserted road? But he wasn’t stopping where he’d stopped before. Instead, he kept walking. But there was a wall up ahead. Unless we walked through the wall, there was no way-
“Are you crazy?!” I hissed, when he gestured to me to follow him.
He grinned wider, and just waited for me to follow him. I sighed, and walked closer, the same humming from before starting up again.
I completely forgot about everything else once the humming started. The action was automatic, I didn’t think before I tried.
I gasped. I had pressed my hands against the tall, solid, brick wall, and ended up walking right through it. It was like I wasn’t there when I walked through it, as if I was hovering in-between existence and non-existence. Absurd in some causes….but totally believe in mine, it seemed.
It was like another world. The wall, the houses, gone, replaced by clouds, blue sky. A cluster of beautiful trees, growing together, a forest. A few meters ahead, there was a clearing, rather large from what I could see from this distance.
I walked forward, unthinkingly, vaguely aware that he was following me. I kept walking, until I was at the edge of the clearing. The amount of energy I sensed here was almost overwhelming.
“Can you feel it?” he whispered. Even through he was a few steps behind me, I heard him a clearly as if he had been standing next to me.
“Yes,” I breathed, taking another step into the clearing. For some reason, a name was forming in my mind. His name…?
“D…Dmitri?” I whispered, looking back at him. At that moment, all hate and anger was gone. Replaced with comfort and safety. But why?
He smiled, and I knew I was safe with him, nothing would happen to me if he was here. Because…he was….
“My protector?”
He nodded, still smiling. So I knew him. Memories that used to seem like looking through murky water had started to become clear. But I was still confused. Why had this happened? Why me?
