Squall Leonhart Cosplay

I'm uh. A nerd. And had to share.

This was for Sakura Con back in April. I didn't cosplay the previous year and was determined to this time around. I'm actually rather pleased with how this turned out, considering that it was sort of pieced together randomly over time. The leather jacket I already owned, and had a buddy in my university's costume department sew on the fur lining. (He's amazing, for the record: http://arcanestatic.deviantart.com )

The gunblade was constructed by another good friend of mine, who also, is absolutely amazing. He built it out of cardboard and a seven dollar nerf gun. I helped do the detailing on the blade as well as the lion head pendant on the chain (which, unfortunately, was not ready at the time we took this photograph).

The con was amazing, and I got stopped for photos a number of times. The only downside was that most of the people who recognized me seemed to because of his cameo in those horrid Kingdom Hearts games. I think only one or two people called me "Squall" instead of "Leon". =_=

I may cosplay him again at Kumori Con this September, but we'll see.
