For layout class we had to draw a background that could be used in what is called a "vertical pan". A pan is when the camera turns around its axis to cover a long part of a circular background. A vertical pan goes from a high angle view to a low angle view. (or the other way around) You can imagine how that would go by placing your hands in front of you so that they make a TV screen, as large as the frame's width, and have them go from the bottom to the top of the picture and the other way around. Part of the deal was to create a dept effect.

I used references from architecture in the United Kingdom, notably the Big Ben, the Tower Bridge and in the backdrop, simplified english-style buildings.
