Little does Cliff know how far Kieri's fetish for the color purple goes! Nah, I'm just kidding. Kieri likes Buwaro for reasons unrelated to his appearance, although he's not exactly ugly. It's like how you can think an animal is beautiful, but not attractive.
Disclaimer: although Cliff is being a jerk, he's not saying anything that's wrong. Buwaro doesn't have a lot going for him: he's weak, unattractive, and a bit slow. I believe that everything he's asserting is true; it's just that by introducing these ideas to Buwaro, he's planted the seeds to doubt.

This is good, but I have a suggestion.
I think you should work with lighting a bit more. For all but the last 2 panels, I couldn't tell what the setting was. I noticed that you drew backgrounds that weren't the actual setting. This is fine, but it'd really help if they fit the tone a bit more. For example, they're out in what appears to be the cold, with the only light reflecting off the ground and from the house. If you lit the characters as such, it would lend itself much more to the mood. Desaturate the colors, add much more contrasting shadows. This is obviously an emotional scene that's dark for the main character, so some darkness would really help enhance that. The light from the house in the last shot could be faint, and the only touch of warmth in the scene, accentuating the feeling of solitude for the main character. These are just suggestions, but I really think they'd help liven up your piece.
