Edge IN part 1
The dragon boy stood at attention, his tail laid still behind him. His dark hair was parted around his face, it amazed him that made it into the platoon and still kept his long hair. The Colonel had pulled him from the field, “Kazu, you have been ordered to infiltrate an island controlled by Russian military. We received information that they are developing weapons with unknown qualities.” he stared down at him, the boy looked straight ahead with his black eyes. His stance never shifted when Colonel turned “I give you the day to see every one you wish. Tomorrow Private Ames will return you here” He dismissed him and sat back down.
Kazu stood on the dock on the edge of the town, “who’s there to see again?” he asked him self as he watched the sun fall on the mirror of water. He sighed and went to a small bar after the sun had vanished into the water. He sat and drank his sake slowly. He looked at nothing but him self in the glass behind the tender. He closed his eyes and drank more sake swallowing the rest slowly. He set money down and got up and left, walking slowly, into the cold night. He climbed onto his motorbike and started it. It roared to life, quieting as it warmed up. He drove of into the night, the wind rushed past him, and his shoulder length hair waved in snappy motions behind him. He reached the small house, secluded from the rest of the town. He stopped and parked his bike out side it. He walked up to it slowly and lifted his hand, which froze in the air. His hand was raised but didn’t knock. He slowly dropped it and walked back to his bike. He started it again as the door flew open.
“Wait!” a younger boy shouted he ran out to Kazu and grabbed his sleeve. Kazu looked at him in the eyes. “Why are you going without saying at least a ‘hi?’” he asked and just looked at him. Dark blue eyes stared at him in almost a glaring tone.
“Sorry, Kimo.” He said barely heard over the motor. He looked at the street now, “I- I just didn’t,” he thought for a second “I didn’t want you involved.” He admitted.
“Involved with what?” he asked his face changed into a curious look.
“I’m just leaving tomorrow…” he got cut off.
“I don’t care.” He said looking away for a second “I don’t care if it’s just for one night.” He said hugging his arm now. Kazu couldn’t help but smile now. He turned off the bike and climbed off slowly.
“Ok,” he didn’t feel so bad anymore. He was pulled inside, it wasn’t very big, but he liked it. It was calming and rather plain. He was pulled and forced onto the couch. Kimo went to the kitchen and took out two small glasses and filled them. He came back and gave him one. He lay his head down on Kazu’s lap and looked up at him.
“Where ya going? He just looked up and smiled
“Just a island, sneaking mission.” He said bluntly
“How long?” he continued, he drank some of his water.
“It’s going to be for a while.” He said and started to run his hand through Kimo’s long hair. They sat for a while, talking and laughed at each other. It was late by the time they to bed. They went into Kimo’s room and lay down on the bed holding each other.
