Now it All Ends
The teenager walked out into the horde of sneering, angry, hateful faces. They parted before him as a knife through hot butter, and melted together behind him, like a sword stuck in the fucking rolling stone.
Xini felt drunk.
Drunk off of blood, pain, sorrow, and revenge.
Revenge—aimed at him.
Yet, he strode on, unaware of the time passing or the speed of his stumbling gait, only aware of…
He didn't hate them back. He could never. Xini loved them all. They were his brothers and sisters; his family and lovers. Hating them would be like hating parts of himself. But they hated his guts, and wanted to consume his soul.
Oh, wait. They ARE my soul. How can they consume it..?
The sudden thought struck him as strange, because he hadn’t thought a single thing the whole time he was awake that day.
Autopilot..
He jumped, as he noticed he was thinking again.
Better be careful or you’ll think of…….
He stopped his thoughts forcefully by biting his tongue.
As he reached the center of the now circle of the hordes of teenagers, one stepped out from the crowd. His features were blurred, even though Xini knew them so well.own looked up and frowned at him.
He spoke loudly yet Xini barely heard him through the haze of drifting, lost in time and space and thought, even though nothing was going through his mind. "You thought you could escape from your bonds and hide from us forever, didn't you." It was a statement, not a question.
Xini didn’t respond.
"Ah… but you ever think about the rest of us, Xini? Did you even take a moment to remember how much we cared? We loved you, Xini. We all loved you. Some of us still do. Look around, brother, and remember: You did this. We loved you, but you fucked yourself over and became the scum of the earth--you are toxic to us all, because of the memories of what you used to be. We loved you, and you ruined us." Ene breathed in a deep breath, as Xini exhaled heavily, and the world spun about the two, standing on the rooftop.
Xini still didn’t say a word.
Ene exhaled as Xini did the opposite. "We loved you, my brother, but you have become your own antithesis..
"Now it all ends."
Xini cried silently, and tears rolled down his face, but didn’t say a word, just stared blankly at Ene, having no idea what to do or say.
Why am I so indecisive..?
Ene took his arms out of his sleeves, revealing two knives; one of which, a KA-BAR made of straight, solid, everlasting, damascus steel; the other, a Ripper's Knife, wickedly hooked--made to tear out and/or shred a victim's throat or various other organs. It was made of the same as its counterpart.
He spoke with great hate and a pained expression that contorted his blurred features. "End of the road, Brother.. Fight or die.." With a subtle motion, Ene sent the two knives spinning and rolling through his fingers and over his knuckles. The two accursed deadly blades blended into blurs of darkness; their edges indistinguishable from their hilts. The two seemed like impending warnings of death, almost like orbs of doom.
All of a sudden, Ene snapped them into a guard position, spun the KA-BAR into the air and caught it by the blade. Without pausing or even slowing his momentum, he whipped it in the direction of Xini's torso.
Xini responded with a tear rolling down his cheek. He spun into action, fielding the KA-BAR and tossing it, hilt first, back to Ene.
No.
Ene frowned. Then he smiled. Then, he couldn’t make up his mind, and his face blanked.
With a quick movement, he caught the KA-BAR by the hilt and whipped the knives wide apart, one up and forward, one towards Xini's throat, and at the same time, dropping the other blade down to his side and drawing nearer to the teen...
Then, at the last moment, the blade going for the neck froze and all time stopped.
The world revolved around the pair--and for a moment, everything was Black, and White; Yin, and Yang; Nothing, and Everything.
Xini gasped as the wickedly hooked knife did its job, and stabbed into his gut--tearing his insides to shreds.
Ene let Xini out of the embrace of his right arm, drawing back to reveal the second blade, which he tore out of the teen without remorse--or so
It seemed. Xini himself witnessed the single tear that rolled down Ene's cheek.
Through gasping, shaking, pain-wracked breaths, Xini managed to choke out one word.
Why?
Ene's face had changed from the cold, dark, hateridden sneer to one of agony, love, and guilt. Wrapping an arm around Xini's midsection, he helped him stay up, and began to speak rapidly in a language that only the two of them could understand. Spitting out curses and hastily and greivingly thrown together regrets, the composition did not seem to make sense.
Unless...was there a deeper meaning...?
Xini would have normally strained to listen, but the pain and shock had sharpened his senses. He knew now, that, if by some massive stroke of luck, or some magic unknownst to the whole world--if somehow, he survived... He would have these words inscribed in his mind for the rest of his days...
Knowing Ene, the secret to the Apocalypse is probably concealed within these words...
Ene slowed his speaking, as he gently lay Xini on the ground, surrounded by all the blood, death, and hate. Xini noticed that the others had long ago departed, scattered to the four winds until once again called to do one's bidding.
Ene switched back to english.
"Farewell, my brother... I love you... Untill we meet again..."
Untill we meet again? What..is that supposed to mean...?
Xini blacked out...
"I still owe you much, my brother. For this I shall let you have this, If you survive to be able to remember it.
"The Duriea Idiri are building an army, to take out the thorn in their side: The Moon, Cosmic, Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, and Dreaming realms."
Xini couldn't comprehend any of this, but succeeded in memorizing it...
