The Poet's Eye
You and I, have the Poet's Eye
Without it, the world would reak.
No longer can we deny
We can write forever and weep.
So now, with you and I--
Together; forever; eternally--
My friends--time mends--We fly!
Soar through dazzling sunsets
Swim through dreams of infinity
This vast amount of experience I have
Makes it all seem...meak.
For, You and I have the Poet's Eye.
With it, beauty we see.
No more times shall we die
With each and every week.
My friends, you know,
that with this gift comes the power
To drop--or to lift
Spirits flagging, Conflicts dragging,
On, on, and on...
You and I have the Poet's Eye
With it, we can see
The beauty of the ordinary;
The light within the darkness--
With it we may, though perhaps not today--
See love--
In the proper way.
